PGA Show Demo & Fitting Day is underway at Orange County National Golf Center. Golf industry professionals are circling the massive range facility, interacting with the 50 exhibitors on hand and trying out the latest products from a number of brands.

There’s a focus on clubfitting, range operations, coaching and other ways for professionals to make connections with golfers. The PGA Professionals’ Fitting Center and Golf Range Association of America (GRAA) Tee Box areas have lively groups of attendees getting one-on-one time with experts in the field, seeing coaching and fitting demonstrations, and connecting with each other at the first PGA Show Demo & Fitting Day in two years.

Other areas seeing plenty of action are the Bridgestone exhibit and the Yamaha Golf-Car Company testing site. Bridgestone is giving attendees the chance to try out its new OTTO automated golf ball fitting cart. Meanwhile, Yamaha’s latest golf cars are being test-driven around an area that gives attendees a feel for how well the perform on the course.

Golf Channel and other media outlets are on site as well, giving the world a glimpse of this industry-only event. We’ll update this section throughout the day to give you an inside look at all the connections being made at the PGA Show Demo & Fitting Day this year.

Afternoon Update:

A steady stream of attendees continues to enjoy 2022 PGA Show Demo & Fitting Day, with exhibitors reporting robust engagement from golf industry professionals.

“The day is going really well for us, with more attendees than we expected,” says Zac Heuer of Wittek Golf. “People are hitting balls and seem really happy to be back. We’re having really good conversations with customers about our range equipment, with a lot of people looking to upgrade their range pickers, bag stands and tee box dividers. People are also excited to go to the PGA Show tomorrow and keep the conversations going.”

PGA Professional Randy Towner agrees with Heuer’s assessment.

“It is always great to have a chance to see what’s going on in our industry, and today’s giving us that chance,” says Towner, the PGA General Manager at Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta, Kansas. “And what’s really great about today is reconnecting with all my friends and peers in the golf business.”

The home stretch

The day is finishing with a flourish, as the Folds of Honor Reception is closing the 2022 PGA Show Demo & Fitting Day on a celebratory note. The pageantry of the event includes a massive American flag unfurled between two fire trucks just outside the registration tent.
