The 2022 PGA Show gets off to a fast start today with a revamped PGA Show Demo & Fitting Day at Orange County National Golf Center in Winter Garden, Florida. PGA and LPGA Professionals, media and invited guests are welcome to attend starting at 9 a.m., with the event opening to other attendees after noon.
Using the provided free shuttles from the Orange County Convention Center is strongly recommended this year, due to construction on the roads around the Orange County National Golf Center and a dramatic increase in residential traffic due to new neighborhoods recently built near the facility.
This year’s PGA Show Demo & Fitting Day goes beyond its roots as a club-testing event to give golf industry professionals a chance to connect with experts in clubfitting, fitness, range operations and much more. The event is now an immersive experience that includes a stage with theater seating and expert presentations, video screens showing best practices, food trucks and the chance to connect one-on-one with leaders in a number of categories.
Of course, there are still plenty of products to demo from more than 50 companies, including Bridgestone Golf, FlightScope and Garmin. That list includes the presenting partners of PGA Show Demo & Fitting Day, such as Clubhouse Events, FlagD, Hempcy, KT Tape, Wittek and Yamaha.
Attendees will notice an emphasis on areas such as the PGA Professionals’ Fitting Center, a dedicated space with expert clubfitters answering questions and providing best practices for fitting players of all types and skill levels. Throughout the day, a mix of live programming and video presentations will be available, with expert speakers discussing how to fit golfers for clubs, and how fitting is part of the psychology of creating better relationships with golfers.
The Golf Range Association of America (GRAA) Tee Box area will be expanded for this year, with architect Lester George on hand to discuss the innovative ways facilities are reimagining their practice areas, including opportunities for making your range into a standout short game facility. GRAA award-winners will be on hand to answer range-related questions throughout the day on areas like coaching, practice, player development, fitting/demos, operations and engagement – think of it like an Apple Store Genius Bar, but more of a “Genius Range.”
A fun finish is planned for PGA Show Demo & Fitting Day, featuring a Folds of Honor Red White & Blues Party on Tee Box 1 from 3-5 p.m. See the Folds of Honor team for more information about the party.
