Women’s Golf Day presentation to focus on “Breaking With Tradition”

A blue-ribbon Women’s Golf Day panel will discuss “Perception vs. Reality — Breaking With Tradition” and a significant announcement regarding the shift of Women’s Golf Day to a week-long celebration will highlight a special presentation on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Room 312A of the Orange County Convention Center during the 70th PGA Show.

Women’s Golf Day Founder Elisa Gaudet (pictured) will join panelists from the PGA TOUR, PGA of America, PGA Tour Superstore, the USGA, Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, Titleist/FootJoy, and Callaway to discuss film clips and topics from the recently released movie “Breaking With Tradition” that examines the relationship between women and golf at every level of the game. Screenwriter Nicole Wheatley will also be in attendance to lead discussions on “Connection, What’s Holding Women Back and Brands.”

Rather than Women’s Golf Day being a single-day event in 2023, details associated with the shift to a week-long celebration May 30-June 6 will be discussed.

“This is the first significant change to the structure of Women’s Golf Day since its launch,” said Gaudet. “WGD locations will be able to host an official Women’s Golf Day event on any day from May 30 through June 6, which will broaden the scope and reach of Women’s Golf Day and provide more opportunities for women and facilities to become involved.”

The panel discussion at the PGA Show on Thursday will include presentation of the 2022 Women’s Golf Day Inspire Action Awards, which are awarded annually to people and facilities that actively support and promote the women’s game.

PGA Members will receive one PDR credit for attending the Women’s Golf Day presentation on Thursday at the PGA Show.
