Srixon debuts Z-Star XV ball and ZXi irons/woods at 2025 PGA Show

Srixon, which saw Hideki Matsuyma set an all-time PGA TOUR 72-hole scoring record at 35-under 257 while winning The Sentry in Hawaii using its new Z-Star XV golf ball, is officially launching that golf ball and its all-new ZXi irons and ZXi woods at the PGA Show this week. In securing his 11th PGA TOUR title, Matsuyama led the field in strokes gained and hit 87 percent of greens in regulation using the new ball.

“Yes, the new Srixon Z-Star XV and the Srixon driver and irons gave me a very good week,” said Matsuyama after his record victory in Hawaii. “The ball was going as far as I have ever hit it off the tee and it felt very comfortable with putter also. And I was very pleased with the new ball.”

Srixon’s new ZXi irons feature groundbreaking i-forged technology to produce superior feel, along with improved distance, forgiveness and control.

“Every year we’re seeing more people choose combination sets with our Irons,” said Dustin Brekke, Director of Engineering at Srixon. “We typically have three specific duos that are most popular among players – the ZXiU and ZXi7 is the most used among our tour staff, pairing forgiving long Irons with highly workable short Irons. The ZXi5 and ZXi7 are for people wanting powerful distance and workability. And we have the ZXi4 and ZXi5 combination that pairs cavity-back short irons with hollow long Irons for maximum forgiveness.”

To ensure the irons maintain their strength and durability, Srixon used Condensed Forging in their ZXi7, ZXi5 and ZXiU irons. This technique strengthens specially chosen sections of each Iron to increase their performance. For ball strikers who value tour-preferred looks, pro-level feel, and precision workability, the all-new ZXi7 irons are true players’ Irons that deliver unparalleled performance from top to bottom. To help deliver a more stable strike, an expanded PureFrame is forged into the body and placed directly.

Srixon is also launching its new ZXi woods featuring its exclusive i-FLEX technology this week at the PGA Show. A completely redesigned face thickness pattern optimizes energy transfer from the club face to the ball, resulting in maximum efficiency and enhanced ball speed. To achieve the flexibility and ball speed goals set for certain ZXi drivers, Srixon engineers utilized an all-new titanium, Ti72S. The material is not only stronger and lighter, but also remarkably durable. The thin face center, supported by thickened areas on the heel and toe, forms the unique shape of i-FLEX, creating optimal performance on every swing.

“With i-FLEX technology inserted into the ZXi woods, we were able to unlock an extra level of performance we’ve never had before,” said Jeff Brunski, Vice President of Research and Development at Srixon. “The flexibility of these clubs enables a more efficient transfer of energy, which in turn, generates more power at impact. With every swing, golfers will be able to feel the added strength and responsiveness of these new Woods and see their shots go farther.”

A standout feature of the new ZXi drivers is their advanced adjustability options. With various weight port locations, players can effortlessly adjust the flight path or spin, allowing for greater control and precision on the course. Additionally, an all-new 1.5-degree hosel sleeve offers 12 different positions to fine-tune loft, lie, and face angle.
