Women’s Golf Day event on Thursday to feature panel, honor award winners

Kim Alexis, the 1980s supermodel and golf enthusiast, will join Women’s Golf Day Founder Elisa Gaudet, National Golf Course Owners Association Senior Membership Director Rachel Carter and representatives from the PGA of America for the annual Women’s Golf Day panel discussion at the PGA Show on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Room W312A at the Orange County Convention Center.

The golf industry experts will provide insight into trends and tactics for developing authentic relationships with the female audience that financially influences the golf market during the 60-minute presentation.

The Women’s Golf Day event also will honor the 2024 Inspire Action Award winners, recognizing individuals and locations who align with WGD’s commitment to Engage, Empower and Support women around the globe every day.  The 2024 award recipients include Natalie Farahani of Dobson Ranch Golf Course; Nicki Hirayama, Director of the Japan Golf Association, Japan; Lissette De Los Santos, Centro Español, Dominican Republic; and The Links at Crowbush Cove, PEI’s Finest Golf Group, Canada.

“2023 was a phenomenal year for women and Women’s Golf Day,” said Gaudet. “We activated in more countries and venues than ever before, thus reaching even more women around the globe. Given the success of Taylor Swift, the Barbie movie and Beyonce in 2023, the world was witness to the economic influence women have. The golf industry has the ability to tap into female spending power and the influence they have over family purchases, including events, membership, merchandise, equipment, social and family activities, trips, vacations, and in-club celebrations and events. Our diverse panel will share their background and insights into the various revenue generators specific to the golf industry.”

Women’s Golf Day began as a one-day, four-hour event that has now spread to more than 1,300 locations in 84 countries since its inception in 2016. It has introduced thousands of new golfers to the sport. WGD is now a weeklong celebration that supports women and girls playing golf and learning the skills that last a lifetime, with the 2024 event scheduled for May 28-June 4.

Official partners of Women’s Golf Day include Callaway Golf, PGA of America, PGA TOUR Superstore, RBC, The R&A, Japan Golf Association and the USGA.
