Five Things to Know: Thursday

  1. PGA HOPE DAY – The second day of the 2024 PGA Show is extra special this year. Today is PGA HOPE Day to pay tribute to Veterans and active-duty military personnel, and there’s a full schedule of special events to enhance awareness of PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) rehabilitative golf programs. That includes a special presentation at 1:30 p.m. on the PGA of America Industry Stage presented by CapTech featuring PGA HOPE ambassadors discussing the positive impact PGA of America Professionals can have by serving as teachers and coaches.
  1. WINTER JAM – Get ready for a rockin’ time tonight! The inaugural PGA Show Winter Jam, supported by adidas and Corebridge Financial, kicks off at 6 p.m. in the new concert lounge in Hall E of the Orange County Convention Center. Country music star Jake Owen will headline the bill, which will highlight PGA HOPE Day. All registered PGA Show attendees are invited to attend the complimentary event on a first-come, first-served basis.
  1. CAREER ZONE – Back for an encore after a successful launch last year is the PGA Show Career Zone, located with the PGA of America Golf Management University Pavilion at booth 3689. The Career Zone facilitates direct interactions between leading golf companies and prospective employees, and not includes private interview rooms for on-site job interviews. Stop by at day’s end for informal networking receptions to connect with industry associates.

THE CLUBHOUSE JOINS THE PAVILION LINEUP – New to the PGA Show Floor is the Clubhouse, a pavilion with more than 70 exhibitors focused on enhancements to clubhouse facilities and non-golf amenities. There are two pickleball courts with live demonstrations from industry leaders like Selkirk Sports and Skechers, and the Clubhouse Stage has a full schedule of industry programming from brand leaders.
  1. PGA INDUSTRY STAGE HIGHLIGHTS – There are a number of intriguing and informational presentations scheduled for today on the PGA of America Industry Stage presented by CapTech. That includes Share Your Story at 9 a.m.; Make Golf Your Thing at 9:30 a.m.; an update on 2024 golf business trends at 10:30 a.m; Coaching for Success at 11 a.m. and an overview of PGA HOPE programs at 1 p.m. And don’t miss the Pitch Tank at 3:30 p.m. with PGA of America Coach David Leadbetter and “Shark Tank” star Kevin Harrington.
